Bucks Cruise Past Nighthawks

(September 17, 2021) Mena, Arkansas - After postponing the match to a day later, the Rich Mountain Bucks (2-5 overall; 1-4 in Region play) hosted the other Arkansas school in Region 2: National Park College (1-5 overall & in Region 2). 

The Bucks controlled the entire first half...firing off 20 shots in the half. Of the 20 shots, the Bucks found the back of the net 4 times in the half. Jess Douglas (Gateshead, England) got the scoring started in in the 12th minute with a goal off the left post. Micaela Nunez (Johannesburg, South Africa) assisted the goal. The Bucks would then score 3 more times, all in 5 minute increments. Remmie Ferla (Corby, England) scored the next 2 goals in the 17th and 26th minutes. Avery Drake (Oklahoma City, OK) and Morgan Johnson (Rowlett, TX) assisted the goals. Five minutes later, Morgan Johnson got a goal of her own to make it 4-0 at the half. Gracie Evans (Telford, England) played the ball to Johnson on the overlapping run. 

The Bucks took off where they started in the second half. Remmie Ferla completed the hat trick in the 50th minute. Kate Duncan and Jess Douglas both got credited for the assists. Douglas played the ball to the corner where Duncan served it across to Ferla for the goal. For the next 15 minutes, the Bucks and Nighthawks went back and forth before the Nighthawks scored on a penalty kick in the 60th minute. The Bucks did respond with another goal in the 65th minute. Bailey Tillotson (Sherman, TX) scored her first goal of the season to make it 6-1. Micaela Nunez picked up her second assist of the game on the goal. The goal would be the last of the game. Bucks win 6-1. 

The win brings the Bucks record to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in Region play. The Bucks travel to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Sunday to take on the Lady Norse.
