September 3, 2021 (Mena, Arkansas) - In an off week from Region 2 play, the Rich Mountain Bucks (1-3; 1-2 in Region 2) played their last non-conference match of the season. The Bucks played host to NJCAA DIII Richland College out of Dallas, TX.

In the first half, the game looked to be evenly matched. Both teams possessed and went back and forth until the Bucks midfield took over. On a ball down the sidelin, Julliana Richardson (Cedar Hill, TX) played the ball across the box to the feet of Paula Salmeron Nunez (Arenals de Sol, Spain) for the first goal of the match at the 17 minute mark. For the rest of the match, the Bucks controlled the middle third and took the 1-0 lead to the half. 

Richland took control of the second half and flipped the script from the first half on the Bucks. In the 75th minute, the Bucks countered the Thunderduck attack and got a corner kick. On the corner kick, Maradona Vilca (Hickory Creek, TX) played a ball to the back post and found the head of Rhiannon Holmes (Newcastle, England) for the Bucks second goal. 

The 2-0 lead wasn't safe. Richland continued to control the match and got a goal in the 82nd minute to cut the lead to 2-1. For the remainder of the half, the Bucks defense came up big and sealed the 2-1 win. 

The Bucks play again at home on Sunday, September 5th, for a Region 2 match against Murray State College.
