Bucks Shutout NEO, 3-0

(May 7, 2021) Mena, Arkansas – Coming off back-to-back wins against Eastern and Redlands, the Bucks looked to keep the winning streak alive heading into the regional tournament. The Bucks hosted Northeastern Oklahoma A&M at Bearcat Stadium this afternoon. NEO won the previous meeting 1-0 in Miami,

The Bucks looked to start fast in the first half and did. Four minutes into the match, Isabelle Ryan (Mansfield, TX) kicked off the scoring with an assist from Maradona Vilca (Hickory Creek, TX) on a corner kick. The Bucks had the 1-0 lead and controlled much of the half. Looking to extend their lead, Maradona Vilca played a ball down field, and Remmie Ferla got past the last defender and chipped the NEO keeper to extend the Bucks lead at the 40:51 mark in the match.

With the 2-0 lead, the Bucks were not done in the half. The Bucks got another corner kick opportunity. Madison Zamudio (Mansfield, TX) put the corner past the goal, and Isabelle Ryan was there for trash. Isabelle put her head on it and found the Back of the net to give the Bucks a 3-0 lead at the half.

In the 2nd half, the Bucks and Lady Norse went back and forth. The Bucks had more opportunities in the half but were unable to connect. The Bucks walked away with a 3-0 win.

With the clean sheet, Briana Salinas (Forth Worth, TX) recorded 5 saves on the afternoon.

The win brings the Bucks regular season record to 5-9. The Bucks will be playing in the Region Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma starting on Thursday, May 13th.
