Bucks Fall to Aggies

(April 30, 2021) Mena, Arkansas – Coming off a loss on Wednesday to Rose State, the Bucks looked to get back into the win column against Murray State College. In the previous meeting, the Bucks won 3-1 in Tishomingo.

The Bucks took the opening kickoff and maintained possession, but the Aggies countered and started to possess the ball. In the 13th minute, the Aggies struck first with a goal to take the early lead. After going back and forth for over 30 minutes, the Bucks found the goal in the last minute of the half. With an assist from Miriam Mendez (Fort Smith, AR), Jess Douglas (Gateshead, England) put it in the upper 90 about 30 yards out from the goal. The goal made it 1-1 at the half.

In the 2nd half, the Aggies took control early and found the back of the net in the 49th minute off a deflection from the Bucks. The game went back and forth in the midfield for much of the half before the Aggies scored again in the 74th minute to make it 3-1. The game went back and forth as both teams had opportunities, but the game would end 3-1 in favor of the Aggie.

The Bucks are scheduled to play again on Sunday at Eastern Oklahoma State College.
