Bucks Drop Match in Double OT

(April 16, 2021) Mena, Arkansas - Coming off their first win of the season at Murray State, the Bucks returned home to face Eastern Oklahoma State at Bearcat Stadium at Mena High School. The Bucks and Mountaineers went at it for 109 minutes before EOSC found the net in the final minute of the game. 

Eastern Oklahoma got a goal at the 16:34 mark in the first half off a counter. The Bucks controlled the first half with posession and 5 shot opportunities and 2 corner kicks. 

EOSC controlled the first part of the 2nd half, but after a foul on the Bucks, EOSC got a free kick that the Bucks were able to counter on. The ball was played across field to Isabelle Ryan (Mansfield, TX), and she put it at the feet of Remmie Ferla (Corby, England). Remmie put it in the back of the net at the 74:51 mark to tie the game at 1-1.

The Bucks had multiple opportunites to end the match, but it went into overtime. After the first 10 minutes, the game went into the 2nd overtime. In the final minute of the match, Eastern took advantage of a Bucks mistake to win the match. 

The Bucks got 14 shots on the day and put 8 on frame. In the loss, Elizabeth Rochen (Arlington, TX) gave up 2 goals and recorded 5 saves. 

The Bucks play again at home on Sunday, April 18th, against Redlands. The match will be played at Bearcat Stadium at Mena High School.
