Bucks Double Dipped by Aggies

(February 26, 2021) Tishomingo, OK – On a cold afternoon, the Rich Mountain Bucks took on the Murray State College Aggies. The Aggies would double dip the Bucks, 19-2 and 13-0.

Game 1

Yesterday carried over to today for the Bucks. The Aggies scored a total of 19 runs in the game. Out of 19 runs, 17 of them runs came on the Bucks defense with 2 outs. The Aggies scored a run in the 1st, 6 in the 2nd, 3 in the 3rd, and 9 in the bottom of the 4th inning to win 19-2.

The offensive highlight for the Bucks came in the 3rd inning. Kristen McMillan (Winnsboro, TX) led off with a solo homerun. Gracie Kimbrell (North Little Rock, AR) and Emily Everitt (Royse City, TX) both followed with a double a piece. Kimbrell would score on an Aggies' error. But, the Bucks would strand runners with a strikeout, a pickoff out, and was thrown out trying to advance to 2nd to end the inning.

The Aggies out hit the Bucks 15-8 and capitalized on 7 Bucks errors.

Kimbrell (3-4) started her 7th game of the year and picked up her 4th loss. She pitched 1.2 innings giving up 6 hits, 7 runs (2 earned), walked 2, and struck out 1. Brooke Detommaso (Las Vegas, NV) came on in relief to throw 1.1 innings. She gave up 2 hits, 3 runs (0 earned), walked 2, and struckout 1. Autumn Powell (Mena, AR) pitched 1 innings giving up 7 hits and 9 runs (1 earned) while striking out 2.

Game 2

Game 2 wasn't much different. After holding the Aggies to a scoreless 1st inning, the Bucks gave up 6 runs in the 2nd, 4 in the 3rd, and 3 in the 4th to win the game 13-0 in 5 innings.

The Aggies out hit the Bucks 8 to 5 in the win.

Hannah Hunter (0-2) got the start in the circle for the Bucks. In the loss, she threw 4 innings giving up 13 runs (11 earned) on 8 hits while walking 8 and striking out 1.
