Men's XC Finishes as Region II Runner-Ups

October 30, 2021 (Mena, Arkansas) - In the fourth season of Bucks Cross Country, the Bucks have won the three previous Region II Cross Country Championships. The Bucks were looking for the four-peat this morning at their home course, the Lion's Club. The Bucks were running with other Region II Schools: Carl Albert State College, Connors State College, National Park College, Northwest Arkansas Community College, and Redlands Community College. 

In the 8K race, the Northwest Arkansas Community College took home the Region II Championship this morning with the Bucks finishing as Region II Runner-Ups. 

Leading the way for the Bucks was Miguel Diaz, Jr. (De Queen, AR) with a time of 28:46.1, placing 4th. This placing earned him All-Region honors. 

The rest of the Bucks would finish as follows:

7th - Anthony Sanchez (De Queen, AR) - 29:32.1

8th - Yeremi Camacho-Vasquez (Wister, OK) - 29:34.8

9th - Tyreek Gilkey (Fort Smith, AR) – 29:48.8

12th - Quinlan Broadway (Fort Smith, AR) - 30:04.4 

16th - Pablo Hernandez (Springdale, AR) - 31:33.5

19th - Jhosse Orellana (Springdale, AR) – 32:16.5

The Bucks will have a few weeks to prepare for the NJCAA Division II National Championship that will be held in Richmond, Virginia on November 13th.
