Article by Olivia Orr

(October 9, 2021) Clinton, Mississippi - The Rich Mountain Bucks took the course at the Mississippi College Watson Invitational after completing a long trip the previous day. The men are coming off a 26th place finish at the Chile Pepper Festival, but this time would face smaller competition and a more familiar environment. Having performed well at the Watson Invitational last year, the men approached the starting line with similar expectations and hoped for multiple personal records on the team. After a strong finish, the Bucks would accomplish a place of 17th.

Miguel Diaz, Jr. (De Queen, AR) led the Bucks and finished 88th with a time of 28:59.2.

Trailing not far behind, Anthony Sanchez (De Queen, AR) and Tyreek Gilkey (Fort Smith, AR) would cross the finish line next, placing 101st and 105th with times of 29:45.1 and 29:56.2.

Completing the top 5, Jhosse Orellana (Springdale, AR) and Pablo Hernandez (Springdale, AR) would finish later, placing 121st and 138th.

Allowing the Bucks a strong finish, Quinlan Broadway (Fort Smith, AR) and Joshua Swint (Mena, AR) came through in 145th and 146th place.

The men will take the starting line again on October 16th at the Little Rock Open.
