Bucks Finish 2nd in XC Season Opener

Mena, Arkansas (August 27, 2021) – The men of Bucks Cross Country kicked off their season this evening at home for the Bucks Season Opener at the Lion's Club. The meet consisted of all NJCAA Region 2 schools: Carl Albert State College, Connors State College, National Park College, Northwest Arkansas Community College, Redlands Community College, and UA Rich Mountain.

In the team competition, the Bucks finished 2nd behind Northwest Arkansas.

For the race, Immanuel Kipchirchir from Northwest Arkansas Community College won the race with a time of 29:05.8. Leading the way for the Bucks was Yeremi Camacho Vazquez (Wister, OK) with a time of 30:43.8, placing 5th. The remaining competitors for the Bucks finished as follows:

7th - Tyreek Gilkey (Fort Smith, AR) – 31:28.3

8th - Anthony Sanchez (De Queen, AR) – 31:43.4

13th - Jhosse Orellana (Springdale, AR) – 33:19.9

22nd - Joshua Swint (Mena, AR) – 36:10.9

27th - Pablo Hernandez (Springdale, AR) – 38:04.9

30th - Enrique Zapata (De Queen, AR) – 42:17.2

The men will be back in action in 2 weeks at Ouachita Baptist at the Bob Gravett Invitational.
