Bucks Shutout at Home by Raiders

(September 20, 2023) Mena, Arkansas - After a week break, the men returned to action this afternoon at Tapley Park for a region match against Rose State College. The men entered the day 1-3-0 in region play.

The first half was very much a chess match with both teams prodding and probing to find spaces, while trying to limit those spaces when in their respective blocks. Goal scoring opportunities were limited for both teams as the game played out to an expected 0-0 game at half.

The second half continued in the same manner as the first half until UARM made some changes to try and force the win. UARM adopted a more attacking formation and created some very good scoring opportunities but lacked that killer touch infront of the goal. Rose State managed to score two late goals taking advantage of defensive errors in the UARM back line, which killed the game off.

After the loss, Coach Sherry stated, "We were playing at home and we gambled to try to get the win.  The gamble didn't pay off but I am proud fo the team for giving it a try.  We can take the loss and learn from it.  I see improvement in the team every week.  I think we will be peaking at the right time of the season when the play offs come into focus."
