Bucks Run-Ruled by Bossier Parrish

(April 27, 2021) Mena, Arkansas – Coming off getting swept this past weekend by Murray State, the Bucks looked to get back on track in a midweek game against Bossier Parrish Community College in a 9-inning game.

Bossier City native, Drake Fontenot, got the start on the mound for the Bucks. He would put down BPCC in order to start the game. In the bottom half, the Bucks would load the bases, but left them stranded to end the inning. In the 2nd, Fontenot hit a batter with 1 out, but he got out of the inning with a double play ball. Once again, the Bucks stranded a runner to keep the score at 0-0.

After giving up a lead off line drive, Fontenot surrendered a run with 1 out in the 3rd. The Bucks once again stranded a couple runners and trailed 1-0 after 3 innings. In the 4th, Keelan Hodge (Junction City, AR) came on to pitch and surrendered 4 runs, including 3 homers. Jim Strider (Mountain Home, AR) came on to pitch with no outs and gave up a 2-run homer to make it 7-0 BPCC after 4 innings.

Both teams went scoreless in the 5th before BPCC put up 3 runs off Strider, including a 3-run homer. After the Bucks went scoreless in the bottom half, BPCC hit a solo shot to lead off top of the 7th. Brayden Ross (Charleston, AR) came on to pitch with no outs and recorded 2 strikeouts and a ground out. In the bottom half, the Bucks went in order to end the game.

The loss brings the Bucks record to 22-22 on the season.
