
(October 26, 2024) Bentonville, Arkansas - After the most successful run last week at Mississippi College, the ladies were focused and energized heading into the 5K race at Northwest Arkansas Community College this morning. There were 7 schools from Arkansas and Oklahoma that competed in the race with a total of 34 runners.
The Bucks ran in just one race that included Region II competition this season and were outlasted by Carl Albert State College at the Chile Pepper Festival. The ladies knew what they needed to do and got it done, finishing as the Region 2 Champions!! The race ultimately came down to the Bucks third, fourth, and fifth runners that came in big this morning to get the region win. The Vikings and Northwest Arkansas finished second and third respectively.
This is the Bucks fourth Region II Championship since 2018.
Individually, every lady finished the race with a personal record. None bigger than Darcy Vineyard's (Claremore, OK) individual championship with a time of 18:45.51 that breaks her own school record that she set earlier this season. Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) also finished in the top 5 and was named All-Region with a 19:54.87 in the race.

20th - Karen Campos (Pittsburg, TX) - 22:23.08
21st - Jocelyn Herndandez (Mena, AR) - 22:29.05

The ladies will enjoy the win before heading to Richmond, VA for the 2024 NJCAA DII National Championship on November 9th. The ladies have been ranked as high as #7 in the country this season and look for their first top 10 finish in school history.
