Ladies Place Third at Bob Gravett Invitational

(September 7, 2024) Arkadelphia, Arkansas - After last week's record setting week at Conway, the ladies returned to the course this morning at the Bob Gravett Invitational. The annual meet was hosted by Ouachita Baptist University. Besides OBU, NCAA DII Arkansas Tech, NCAA DII Henderson State, NCAA DIII Hendrix College, and Region II foe National Park College were the six school represented in the 5K race. 

Ouachita Baptist won the race, followed by Arkansas Tech University. The ladies finished third ahead of HSU, Hendrix, & NPC. 

After setting the school record last week, Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) was named the Week 1 NJCAA DII Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for her performance. She followed up the school record with another successful run. Her 19:29.60 was good enough for 24th overall Saturday morning. There was a total of 68 ladies in the 5K race.

There was a trio of Bucks that finished 45th - 47th in the race. Sharon Strydom (Capetown, South Africa) over came some sickness this morning to run a 21:24.9. Following her was sophomore Jadelynn Wood (Mansfield, AR) with a 21:56.40 and Madyson Winn (Greenland, AR) with a 21:57.40.

The rest of the ladies finished as follows:

50th - Annabelle Cupps (Cabot, AR) - 22:17.40

52nd - Adriana Montiel (De Queen, AR) - 22:31.40

54th - Avery Carter (Siloam Springs, AR) - 22:35.40

The Bucks will now head to Harding University on Friday, September 13th, for the Steve Guymon Invitational. It will be an evening start for the ladies.
