Women's Cross Country Finishes 4th at East Texas Shootout

Commerce, TX (October 2, 2020) – The women of Bucks Cross Country competed this afternoon at Centennial Park and finished 4th. Dallas Baptist University won the 5K race. There were 5 total colleges and universities competing with 36 total women competitors.

For the race, Marissa Insinna from Dallas Baptist won the race with a time of 17:49.44. Leading the way for the Bucks was Olivia Orr (Bryant, AR) with a time of 20:59.94 placing 16th, setting a personal record for herself. Other competitors for the Bucks finished as follows:

30thDirie Balderas (Fort Smith, AR) – 22:39.19

32ndDarriana Franklin (Fort Smith, AR) – 23:22.19

33rdEmili Bravo (Sprindale, AR) – 23:34.27

34thHaley Magueyal-Perez (Nashville, AR) – 23:58.74

36thJulianna Kennedy (Mena, AR) – 25:57.60

Even though Shannan Gardner (Ward, AR) did not record a time (timer malfunction), she crossed the finish line between Bravo and Magueyal-Perez.

The women will be back in action next Friday, at their home meet, the Lion's Club Invitational. The Bucks will run at 10 am.
