Vineyard Finishes in Top 5 in Jonesboro

Vineyard Finishes in Top 5 in Jonesboro

(March 26, 2025) Jonesboro, Arkansas - The ladies continued their 2025 campaign this weekend at the Alumni Classic hosted by Arkansas State University. This is the first time the Bucks have ran in Jonesboro. It was a 2-day event that began on Friday. Like most of the region, the Bucks had to endor a little weather on Friday evening. The ladies competed against NCAA DI and DII universities over the weekend.

Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) began her weekend in the 3000 meter steeplechase, finishing 2nd overall with a time of 11:44.82. It was a small race with only 3 competitors. She ran again on Saturday in the 1500 meter run with another top 5 finish. Her time of 5:09.68 was good enough for 3rd place overall. It was also a personal best for Vineyard in the 1500.

Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) began her Saturday in the 400 meter dash, placing 11th with a 1:00.62. Then, she would try again to qualify for Nationals in the 800 meter run and set a small personal record, but she is still just 2 seconds shy of qualifying for Hutchinson. Her 2:21.75 was good enough for 11th in the race.

Avery Carter (Siloam Springs, AR) was back in action this afternoon in the 800 meter run. She would finish 13th with a 2:46.98.

The Bucks will have the week off before competing in their last regular season meet at the University of Arkansas.
