Vineyard & Strydom Both Set Personal Best at SFA

(April 12, 2025) Nacogdoches, TX - The Bucks are back in the swing of things and back in routine as they headed to Stephen F. Austin Friday afternoon for the Carl Kight Invitational. The ladies are getting closer to the end of their season and trying to make the final push to qualify for Nationals in May.

Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) has already punched her ticket to Nationals in the 3000M Steeplechase and would better her qualifying time by 18 second on Friday evening. Vineyard finished 7th overall at SFA with a time of 11:37.9. 

In the 400 meter dash, Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) finished 12th out of 31 ladies on Saturday afternoon with a time of 59.29. 

The duo of Vinyard and Strydom was joined by Avery Carter (Siloam Springs, AR) in the 800 meter run. There were 74 runners in the race. It was Sharon Strydom's first time to run the race, and she finished 19th overall with a time of 2:21.96. She needs a 2:19.08 to qualify for Nationals. Vineyard finished 58th with a time of 2:34.02, and Carter placed 72nd with a time of 2:42.15. 

The ladies will now travel next weekend to Southern Arkansas University for the Dan Veach Invitational.
