(April 6, 2025) Searcy, Arkansas - After the state received more rain than it wanted, the Bucks finally were able to make their way to Harding University for the Bryan Phillips Open on Sunday afternoon. The ladies have already competed at Harding earlier this season.
Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) competed in two events this afternoon. She started her day in the 1500 meter run and placed 19th with a time of 5:12.23. The time was good enough for a personal record. Vineyard has already qualified for the National Championship in the 3000 meter steeplechase and would like to add another event to her weekend in May. She would also set a personal record in the 800 meter run this afternoon with a time of 2:35.47. It was also good enough for 19th overall out of 30 runners.
Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) would like to join her teammate in Hutchinson, Kansas in May. She would set a personal record in the 400 meter dash this afternoon with a time of 59.85 that was good enough for third overall at the event. There were 11 runners in competition.
The Bucks will now compete at the Carl Kight Invitiational in Nacogdoches, TX on Friday and Saturday, April 11th & 12th. The event is hosted by Stephen F. Austin.
