
(March 8, 2025) Searcy, Arkansas - After kicking off their season last weekend at the Hendrix Invitational, the ladies hit the road again for the Bison Invitational hosted by Harding University. The Bucks looked to build off their times from past weekend in cold, wet conditions on Saturday.
Once again, Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) impressed with a top 5 finish in the 400 meter run. She would finish 3rd out of 24 runners that was broken into 5 heats. Her third place finish was with a time of 1:00.83, which is a personal record for the sophomore.
Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) hit a personal record of her own in the 1500 meter run. Her PR time of 5:17.75 was good enough for 17th overall out of 36 runners. She would also set a personal record in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:40.48 that was good enough for 18th overall.
Avery Carter (Siloam Springs, AR) and Annabelle Cupps (Cabot, AR) would also set personal records in the 800 meter run. Carter finished a place behind Vineyard with a time of 2:43.77. Cupps finished 27th out of 32 runners with a time of 2:54.54.
The Bucks will now have a weekend off and will return to action at the Richard Martin Jr. Invitational, hosted by the University of Central Arkansas. The race will be at the beginning of spring break.
