
(January 31, 2025) Norman, Oklahoma - Coming off a Region 2 Championship in Women's Cross Country, the ladies started their Spring 2025 semester this afternoon at the JD Martin Invitational. The indoor meet was hosted by the University of Oklahoma. The ladies had a solid start to their track season in the open competition.
Darcy Vineyard (Claremore, OK) ran in the 1 mile race to begin the day. The freshmen is coming off an All-American campaign in Cross Country. She finished 11th overall with a time of 5:58.2, breaking the 6 minute mark in her first indoor race. She was also named the USTFCCCA West Region Female Athlete of the Year in 2024.
Sharon Strydom (Cape Town, South Africa) ran in the 400 meter run and finished 6th overall with a time of 1:03.93.
Amya Pope (Pittsburg, TX) finished up the day for the ladies in the 60 meter dash. She would finish 4th in the prelims with a time of 8.29 and qualified for the open finals. In the finals, she would finish 5th overall, bettering her time from the prelims with an 8.25.

The Bucks may pick up one more indoor meet before heading into their spring season that begins on March 1st at Hendrix College.
