Bucks XC Announces 2020 Track Schedule

Bucks XC Announces 2020 Track Schedule

Mena, Arkansas - After a successful Fall of running cross country, Bucks XC and Coach Samantha Shores will be running track this spring. Both the men's and women's teams will be participating in track meets across the state of Arkansas, focusing on the distance events (800m, 1500m, 3000m) to continue to perfect their craft. Men's Cross Country is coming off a great fall season that included 3 perfect scores and a NJCAA Region 2 Championship, while Women's Cross Country finished as the Region 2 Runner-Ups. Coach Samantha Shores says her athletes are excited about the upcoming Spring schedule. "After last year's off season, we wanted to add some competition to our schedule to give our athletes something to look forward to and train for. Last spring, all we did was run the half marathon up Rich Mountain. Running track this spring will allow our athletes to stay in a competitive mind while continuing to get better. It is also a way for our athletes to get some exposure to the four year programs."

Earlier this month, Bucks XC standout, Jordan Foster (Mena, AR), competed at the Tyson Indoor Invitational on February 15th in Fayetteville in the 5000 meter run, finishing 11th with a time of 16:58:67.
