Bucks fall short to Northern Oklahoma

September 30,2021- Coming off a loss against Northern Oklahoma College last month, the Rich Mountain Bucks approached their home field looking for a shot at redemption. Despite a strong attempt, and close game, the Bucks came up short with a score of 0-2.

The Bucks had a strong start in the beginning of the 1st half. Both teams came off with multiple attempts to score and they would go back in forth throughout the entirety of half. Goalkeeper Elizabeth Rochen, would make her first save before the 1st minute of the game, and would continue to make multiple saves, keeping the Bucks in a good position for the first 30 minutes of the game. The score remained 0-0 until the 30th minute when Northern Oklahoma completed a goal, despite the Buck's best efforts.

The Bucks would perservere for the remainder of the first half, denying Northern Oklahoma the chance to gain another point. They would make several more attempt to score, but would be unsuccessful, resulting in the 1st half ending with a score of 0-1.

The Buck's didn't let up in the 2nd half, and continued to search for opportunities to kill Northern Oklahoma's lead. The two teams went back and forth consistently, but despite best efforts, the Bucks couldn't find the back of the net.

Defense showed their potential by holding strong for the majority of the half, refusing to allow Northern Oklahoma to score, up until the 86th minute when the scored off of a penalty kick. The Bucks continued to attempt to lessen Northern Oklahoma's lead, but the game would soon end with a loss of 0-2.

The game ended with 5 shots total, Remmie Ferla being responsible for 2, and Maddie Tyler for 3.

The women can be expected to take the field again on October 5th, at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College.
