Bucks Fall to Eastern Oklahoma State

Bucks Fall to Eastern Oklahoma State

August 26, 2021 (Mena, Arkansas) - Finally getting to see action on the new pitch at Aubrey D. Tapley Park, the Bucks looked to win their second Region 2 match of the season. However, the game could be summarized as the "Tale of Two Halves". The Bucks led 1-0 at the half, but they would fall 4-2 in the match.

In the first half, the Bucks controlled the middle third of the field. After going back and forth in the first fifteen minutes of the match, the Bucks would play a great ball from the midfield by Kate Duncan (Bauxite, Arkansas) to Bailey Tillotson (Sherman, Texas). Tillotson would find Rhiannon Holmes (Newcastle, England) for the first goal of the match. The remainder of the first half would go back and forth.

In the second half, the tables turned and Eastern Oklahoma State controlled the middle third of the match. Off of a Bucks mistake and 2 found, Eastern would score 3 goals between the 52nd and 65th minutes. The Bucks would fight back. On what looked like an apparent goal on a corner kick, a Eastern red card led to a Bucks penalty kick. Jess Douglas (Gateshead, England) would make the best of the PK to cut into the lead, 3-2.

Playing a man down, Eastern would get a breakaway and make the final goal of the match. The Bucks would fall 4-2.

The loss brings the Bucks Region 2 record to 1-1. The Bucks are on the road on Sunday at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, OK.
