(May 9, 2025) Ardmore, Oklahoma - After back-to-back shutout wins against Carl Albert and National Park, the Bucks found themselves where they wanted to be against Murray State College. The winner would advance to the Southwest Plains District Championship game, while the loser would have to play another game to get there.
The 22nd ranked Bucks battled hard, but would fall 4-1 to #2 Murray State. Murray State scored their 4 runs in the second and third innings before the Bucks would respond.
In the fourth, Emma Reynolds (Cayuga, TX) hit a double to left centerfield. Next at-bat, Brenli Baker (Enid, OK) ripped a double down the left field line to plate Reynolds to cut the lead to 4-1. That's where the game would stay.
Holly Raney (Mayflower, AR) got the start and lasted 2.2 innings. Raney (12-5) gave up 4 runs on 3 hits. Addisyn Wright (Buffalo Valley, OK) pitched the final 3.1 innings, giving up only 1 hit and limiting Murray's offense. She would strike out 3.
The ladies now play again on Saturday at 11 am against tonight's winner between Western Oklahoama State College and National Park College. The winner of tomorrow's game will take on Murray in the Championship game.
