Softball Takes Season Series over National Park

(May 1, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - After a sweep of ASU-Newport, the ladies returned home to finish their regular season with a pair of doubleheaders. The Bucks hosted National Park on Thursday afternoon. The ladies took both games earlier this season at Majestic Park.

The Bucks would win the first game of the day, 6-2, but the ladies fell in 9-innings to the Nighthawks. The Bucks would take the season series 3-1.

In the first game, the Bucks used the long ball to drive in all but one run. Jaliyah Simmons (Muskogee, OK), Mallory Cheek (Lumberton, TX), and Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR) all hit home runs and drove in a pair of runs in the doubleheader.

Linley Collins (Whitesboro, OK) recorded 5 hits on the day, including a double and triple in the first game. Brenli Baker (Enid, OK) was perfect on the day at the plate, going 4 for 4. Kate Daigle drove in a run on 2 hits, including a double. 

Holly Raney (Mayflower, AR) started the day in the cirlce, lasting 5.2 innings. Raney (11-4) would give up 2 runs on 2 hits and struck out 7 in the outing. Hayden White (Red Oak, OK) came on in the save situation and closed out the final 1.1 innings. It was her 5th save of the season. 

The ladies will now return home on Sunday for Sophomore Day at Cummings-Cecil Field. The Bucks will take on Western Oklahoma State. First pitch is schedule for 12 & 2 pm.
