(April 27, 2025) Denison, Texas - Trying to manuever the weather and the end of the regular season, the ladies weekend plans changed a few times throughout the week. The 19th ranked Bucks took on #2 Murray State College this morning at Grayson College. Earlier this season, Murray State took both games from the Bucks.
The ladies could not avoid the big inning defensively and fell in both games: 10-2 in 6-innings and 9-1 in 5 innings.
Offensively, the Bucks recorded 7 hits on the day, plating 3 runs. Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR) hit a 2-RBI single in Game One that cut the Aggie lead to 3-2 in the top of the fourth inning. Another offenisve highlight on the day was a double and stolen base by Kyson Vap (Newkirk, OK). Four other Bucks each recorded a hit in the doubleheader.
In Game Two, Jaliyah Simmons (Muskogee, OK) was still needing one hit to break the school record for hits in a season and came through on a RBI double in the top of the fourth that tied the game at 1-1. She now has 78 and counting on the season.
After the ladies cut into the Aggie leads or tied the contest, Murray always had an answer that resulted in both losses.
The ladies are now 37-12 overall and 21-5 in region play ahead of their final six games this week. The Bucks will travel to ASU-Newport on Tuesday to take on the Aviators.
