(March 13, 2025) East Camden, Arkansas - Coming off a split on Monday and finding their way in the NJCAA DII Softball Rankings at #25, the ladies had a pair of region doubleheaders to end their week. It started on Thursday afternoon at SAU Tech. The Bucks have had the upper hand over the Lady Rockets the past few seasons. The Bucks entered the day at 16-7 overall with a 2-0 record in the region, while SAU Tech was 5-10 with a 1-5 region record.
The Bucks found themselves having to dig out of a pair of holes on the day, but the ladies found a way in both games. After a 3-2 win in 8-innings to start the day, the Bucks used a 5-run top of the fifth to win 5-2 to get the sweep over SAU Tech.
Emily Stout (Vilonia, AR) reached on an error in the first game in the top of the eighth inning to drive in the game winning run, while Emma Reynolds (Cayuga, TX) hit a bases clearing triple in the top of the fifth in Game Two that led to a 5-run inning for the Bucks. Reynolds continues to add to her career record of triples at UARM. She currently has 15 in her career as a Buck.
Offensively, the ladies recorded 12 hits on the day. Kyson Vap led the ladies with 3 hits on the day and scored a run. Brenli Baker (Enid, OK) and Lindsey Smyth (Mansfield, TX) each had a pair of singles on the day and each drove in a run.
On Monday, Kamryn Uher (Prairie Grove, AR) tied the career record for hit-by-pitches at UARM, but she would break that record today with her 13th HBP of her Bucks career. She is now 2 away from tying the season record that will only extend her career record.
It was the best day for the ladies in the circle, but the three pitchers used grinded it out for a pair of wins. Holly Raney (Mayflower, AR) (4-3) came on and pitched 1.2 innings to get her fourth win of the season, while Lindsey Smyth (4-0) stayed perfect on the season in Game Two. Smyth gave up 2 unearned runs and recorded 6 strikeouts in the win. She currently boasts a .61 ERA on the season. Hayden White (Red Oak, OK) got the no decision in 6.1 innings of work, giving up a pair of earned runs on 6 hits. The freshmen struck out 3 and walked 2 in the outing.
The ladies will now have Friday off before hosting ASU Three Rivers at Cummings-Cecil Field on Saturday. The ladies beat ASUTR earlier this season 8-2 and 15-0 in Malvern. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
