Ladies Blast ASU Mountain Home; 100th Win in Program History

(April 6, 2024) Mountain Home, Arkansas - Coming off a split with #8 Paris JC and a pair of region wins over North Arkansas, the Bucks wanted to keep their momentum going on a long bus trip to ASU Mountain Home. Earlier this season, the ladies beat ASUMH 13-0 and 9-0 at Cummings-Cecil Field. 

The doubleheader this afternoon at Keller Park had the same results for the Bucks as at home: 12-1 and 20-4 wins. The wins not only resulted in a season sweep for the Bucks over ASUMH, but it marked the 100th win in program history and the 100th college win for Head Coach Tracy Nealy. 

In the circle, McKenna Bittle (Greer's Ferry, AR) and Olivia Nickson (Bentonville, AR) got wins in the circle in their starts. The duo combined for 10 strikeouts on the day, while the pitching staff as a whole gave up 5 runs (4 earned) on 10 hits. 

Offensively, the Bucks collected 19 hits on the day, including 5 home runs: JJ Bass (Joaquin, TX), Layla Baker (Doyline, LA), Kate Daigle (Rayne, LA), McKenna Bittle, & Madison Heller (Hughes Springs, TX). The ladies also doubled 4 times, and Emma Reynolds (Cayuga, TX) tied the career record for triples in her first season as a Bucks (7 triples). Bass, Baker, Heller, and Madie Rohre (Whitewright, TX) led the ladies with 3 RBIs on the day. The Bucks stole 13 bases on the day, including JJ Bass continuing to add to her season and career records. The ladies recorded 16 walks and 5 hit-by-pitches in the doubleheader. 

The Bucks will now return home for a short stay before heading out for a 4-game road set against Seminole State College and region foe Western Oklahoma State College on Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Then, the ladies will return home for a region doubleheader on Saturday, April 13th, against SAU Tech.
