#13 Softball Blanks Mountain Home

(March 2, 2024) Mena, Arkansas - After getting ranked for the first time in school history on Monday, the ladies took down future conference foe ASU Newport on Thursday before beginning region play on Saturday against ASU Mountain Home. This is the first officall matchup between the Bucks and Trailblazers.

It was all Bucks on the day with a pair of shut out wins in 5-innings, 13-0 and 9-0. The Bucks put together a couple of complete games offensively, defensively, and in the circle.

McKenna Bittle (Greer's Ferry, AR) pitched all 5.0 innings in the first game. Bittle (6-2) gave up 2 hits and struck out 6 in the outing. Kamryn Uher (Prairie Grove, AR) went the distance in the second game, giving up her only hit of the day in the top of the fifth inning to spoil her no-hitter. Uher (4-1) struck out 3 on the day. 

At the plate, the Bucks combined for 25 hits between the two games, scoring 22 runs. Lilli Williams (Granbury, TX) and Madie Rohre (Whitewright, TX) both had 5 hit days. Rohre led the Bucks with 6 RBIs. 

The ladies had 11 extra base hits against the Trailblazers, including a Rohre triple and Williams, Emma Reynolds (Cayuga, TX), & Payton Hale (Fort Worth, TX) each hitting a pair of doubles. 

Defensively, the ladies committed only 1 error on the day, and turned multiple double plays.

Next up for the Bucks is a road trip to Northeast Texas Community College on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm.
