Softball Splits Season Series with Carl Albert

(April 17, 2023) Poteau, Oklahoma - Coming off a doubleheader win on Sunday afternoon at home, the ladies loaded the bus and headed just over the state line to take on the Carl Albert State College Lady Vikings. Early this season, the Bucks won a pair of close games at home against Carl Albert: 4-3 and 3-2. 

This afternoon the Lady Vikings bested the Bucks 8-4 and 6-5 to split the season series. The ladies are now 22-16 on the regular season and 11-5 in Region II. 

In the two games, the ladies produced 9 runs on 12 hits in the doubleheader. Blaire Gentry (Lockesburg, AR) led the Bucks with 4 hits on the day, including a double and a 2-run home run. She also had a team leading 3 RBIs, along with Kirsten Sudderth (Forney, TX). Sudderth hit a home run in the first game of the day. Marli Huddleston (Bee Branch, AR) scored 3 runs on the day. 

Blaire Gentry and Maddie Muller (Little Elm, TX) both started in the circle on the day and took losses. Both starters struck out 4 hitters a piece. Caitlyn Mayo (Bigelow, AR) came in and pitched an inning in relief in the first game. 

The ladies have another quick turn around and will head to Seminole State tomorrow for a doubleheader with the Trojans. First pitch is scheduled for 2 pm.
