Region II Softball Tournament Preview

(May 8, 2022) Mena, Arkansas - In season two of Bucks Softball, the Bucks showed improvement with a 30-27 record overall and 13-19 in Region II play. The Bucks secured the #6 seed in the upcoming Region II Tournament in Piedmont, Oklahoma this coming weekend, May 12th - 15th. Since April 15th, the Bucks went 10-4 in region play, including winning 5 of their last 6 to wrap up the regular season.

First Round Matchups

Game 1 (11 am) - #4 NOC-Tonkawa vs. #5 Western Oklahoma State - On the season, the Mavericks took 3 of 4 games from the Lady Pioneers.

Game 2 (1:30 pm) - #2 Northeastern Oklahoma A&M vs. #7 Connors State - On the season, the Lady Norse won 3 of 4 games against the Cowgirls.

Game 3 (4 pm) - #1 Seminole State vs. #8 NOC-Enid - The Trojans swept NOC-Enid on the season.

Game 4 (6:30 pm) - #3 Rose State vs. #6 UA Rich Mountain - The Bucks and Raiders split on the season. The Bucks won the initial game of both doubleheaders during the regular season, 5-2 and 7-6. Rose State won the other two games, 17-2 and 9-1. In the circle for the Bucks, Blaire Gentry (Lockesburg, AR) and Caitlyn Mayo (Bigelow, AR) both picked up wins against the Raiders.

If the Bucks win the first round game, they will play again on Friday at 4 pm against the winner of NEO and Connors State. If they lose, the Bucks will play the loser of the same matchup at 1:30 pm on Friday. The Bucks won one game in their four game series with the Lady Norse and split on the season with the Cowgirls.
