Bucks Finished 12th in Prairie Fire Pepper

(September 28, 2024) Fayetteville, Arkansas - After three straight weekends of races, the Bucks took a week off last weekend to rest and practice in preparation for the Chile Pepper Festival this morning. The men competed in the Prairie Fire Pepper 8K race. There was a total of 30 teams and 218 runners. 

UT Dallas was the team winner of the 8K race, while the Bucks finished 12th overall. Almost all of the Region II teams were represented, and the men finished 2nd out of the region teams.

Danny Lamas (Dodge City, KS) led the way for the Bucks with a 21st place finish 27:47.1. Yermy Gonzalez (Horatio, AR) followed, finishing 48th with a time of 28:36.2. 

The rest of the Bucks finished as follows:

86th - Alfred Rodriguez (Dalhart, TX) - 29:53.2

114th - Montana Wesley (Waldron, AR) - 30:44.9

117th - Beau Reed (Moore, OK) - 30:46.3

131st - Tommy Banks (Houston, TX) - 31:25.3

145th - Desmond Thompson (Ft. Smith, AR) - 32:27.5

The men compete again in 2 weeks at the University of the Ozarks Invitational in Clarksville.
