Men Finish Fourth in 4 Mile Run at Steve Guymon Invitational

(September 13, 2024) Searcy, Arkansas - Coming off a great finish last week at Ouachita Baptist, the Bucks looked to continue their season Friday evening in the Steve Guymon Invitational. After running at 5K at UCA and an 8K at Ouachita Baptist, the men ran a 4-mile race at Harding University. 

Just like the women, there were 9 total teams in the race. NCAA DII Harding won the race overall, followed by UA Little Rock and Chrisitan Brothers University. The Bucks finished fourth overall in the race ahead of Mineral Area College (NJCAA), UA Pine Bluff, Lyon College, Crowley's Ridge, and LeMoyne-Owen, respectively. 

In the 4-mile run, Danny Lamas (Dodge City, KS) led the way for the Bucks with a time of 21:47.4 and finished 27th. This would be Lamas best finish in a 4-mile run. Yermy Gonzalez (Horatio, AR) followed with a 22:43.0, placing 33rd. Rounding out the top 3 for the men was Alfred Rodriguez (Dalhart, TX) with a 37th place and a time of 23:04.5. There were 87 runners in the race.

The rest of the Bucks finished as follows: 

46th - Montana Wesley (Waldron, AR) - 23:49.4

48th - Beau Reed (Moore, OK) - 24:02.9

50th - Noah Burns (Weatherford, TX) - 24:26.4

52nd - Desmond Thompson (Fort Smith, AR) - 24:42.4

68th - Tommy Banks (Houston, TX) - 28:22.7

The Bucks run again at the Chile Pepper Festival on Saturday, September 28th.
