(September 2, 2023) Conway, Arkansas - The Bucks started their season with a bang last week with win at the Lion's Club to begin their season. The men looked to build off of that momentum this morning at Beaver Lake. The 3 mile race was hosted by the University of Central Arkansas. 

There were 8 teams competing with a total of 60 runners, with 3 teams being NCAA Division I. The Bucks finished in 5th place on the day and were led by the freshmen, sophomore duo of Angel Cordero (Springdale, AR) and Luis Morales (Glenwood, AR), finishing 33rd and 34th, respectively. Cordero finishedat 16:40.6, while Morales was less than a second behind at 16:41.01.

This team could arguably be the most consistent across the board and finished the race as follows:

36th - Emmanuel Cartagena (Sherman, TX) - 16:50.56

38th - Tommy Banks (Houston, TX) - 16:53.36

39th - Brian Monterroza (Fort Smith, AR) - 16:57.25

42nd - Yermy Gonzalez (Horatio, AR) - 17:36.28

46th - Desmond Thompson (Fort Smith, AR) - 18:08.83

The men look to continue to get better after a strong start next week at Texas A&M Texarkana. The race is scheduled for Friday, September 8th.
