
(April 12, 2025) Nacogdoches, Texas - After a rainy last weekend at Harding, the men headed to Stephen F. Austin on Friday to continue their 2025 campaign. The track meet was a 2-day meet with distance events on Friday evening, and the remaining events on Saturday.
The Bucks started their meet on Friday evening in the 1500 meter run. There were 89 competitors and 6 heats for the race. The men faired well, all setting personal records. Yermy Gonzalez (Horatio, AR) led the way for the men, placing 38th with a time of 4:10.11. Danny Lamas (Dodge City, KS) had a time of 4:17.07, good enough for 52nd, followed by Alfred Rodriguez (Dalhart, TX) finishing 73rd with a time of 4:26.73. The biggest PR of the day was Texas native Noah Burns (Weatherford, TX) with a 4:35.47. His time with 10+ seconds faster than any of his previous races.
Jequavious Mckenzie (Camden, AR) began his weekend in the 400 meter dash with a 50.95. It was good enough for 25th overall out of 49 runners and was his best so far this season. Mckenzie finished his afternoon in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.04. He finished 37th out of 62 runners.
On Saturday, Yermy Gonzalez finished under 2 minutes for the first time in his career in the 800 meter run. He had a time of 1:59.19 that placed 32nd out of 87 runners.

The men will now compete again on Saturday, April 19th, at Southern Arkansas University.
