Bucks Blanked on the Road by Raiders

Bucks Blanked on the Road by Raiders

(September 25, 2024) Midwest City, Oklahoma - After their first region win of the season on Sunday, the Bucks were looking to keep the momentum going against Rose State College on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams entered the game with one region win and looking for their second.

The beginning of the game looked like two middleweight boxers jabbing and moving in the center of the ring trying to get a feeling of their opponent before making a move to attack with. Rose State landed that first punch in the 20th minute when the substitute striker was given room to cut in from the right and delivered a very good left footed curling shot into the opposite corner of the net. Despite being hit to the floor, the Bucks got straight back and pushed for that goal to tie it up.

Konrad Maciejak (Armadale, Scotland) came close from a corner kick, but his header found the side netting of the goal rather than heading it back into the danger area across the goal. UARM sensed a goal was coming, and indeed, it did come in the 32nd minute after Miles Kairschner (West Monroe, LA) headed the ball into the net from a long free kick, but as the team celebrated they saw the ARs flag up for offside.

The half time break was used to reshuffle the Bucks lineup and more attackers were thrown forward to begin an onslaught of the Rose State defensive unit. The ball was being put into the Rose State penalty area, but time after time, the ball would finish up inches away from a Bucks foot to hammer home. UARM threw everything forward, but time ran out before that equalizing goal could be found.

Coach Sherry wasn't upset after the road loss. "I thought we player very well today and certainly deserved to get something from the game. We dominated in large parts of it, but for a piece of luck or high quality in the final third, we could easily have came out of it with a victory. We mustn't be down hearted. We fought hard, and on another day, the fortunes could be different. "

The men now have a week off before playing on Tuesday at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton.
