Bucks Earn Win Against Murray

September 21. 2021 (Mena, Arkansas) –
The Rich Mountain Bucks took their home field against Murray State College immediately following a win on the girls team. Hoping to continue a win streak for the day, the Bucks gave a strong performance and earned a win of 2-1.

The Bucks and Murray went back and forth for the first half of the game with multiple attempts to score on both sides. After the first half, the Bucks came to a total of 9 shots and 2 goal shots. The bucks didn't gain any points, but their defense held strong. It was goal keeper Edward Garcia who had 3 saves and refused any goals on Murray's end.

Other honorable mentions of the first half includes an impressive block by Antonio Galarzo.

The Bucks returned to the field after half time ready to gain a lead on Murray. The Bucks earned their first goal of the game in the 52nd minute after an assist by Matt Sturgeon to Antonio Galarzo, who delivered a well-executed kick into the bottom of the net.

Soon after, Murray gained a point at the 59th minute, leaving the bucks in a tight spot with a score of 1-1.

The Bucks and Murray went back and forth for the majority of the half, until Antonio Galarzo was able to assist Kason Shrum, who scored the Buck's final point with only 4 minutes to spare.

The Bucks held strong for the remainder of the game, refusing to allow Murray to score and ending with a final score of 2-1.

The Bucks will take the field again at 4:00 pm on Sept. 26 at Eastern Oklahoma State College.
