Three Bucks Name to All-Region Soccer Teams

(May 14, 2021) Enid, Oklahoma - On the opening day of the Region II Tournament, the NJCAA Region II Soccer annouced their All-Region Team before the Bucks matchup with NOC - Tonkawa. The Bucks had 1 athlete make the 1st Team: Dawson Saywer (Brechin, Scotland), and 2 athletes made the 2nd Team: Maurice Theart (Parklands, South Africa) and Trev Lewis (Kitchener, Ontario). 

 

Freshmen, Dawson Sawyer, played in every match this season for the Bucks. He combined for 10 points on the season, 6 assist and only 2 goals, but the 2 goals were both game winners for the Bucks. He was the glue in the middle of the pitch that controlled and kick started the Bucks offensive attack. He was known for being very deceptive toward defenses, but he was the quarterback on the pitch for the Bucks offense. He will be returning for his sophomore campaign with the Bucks. 

 

Sophomore, Maurice Theart, was the Bucks leading scorer in both his freshmen and sophomore seasons, combining for 13 official goals in his Bucks career. On the season, he scored 1 more goal than his freshmen season in 3 less matches. He also had 2 assists on the condense season. He was one of the Bucks top target players and could play on either side of the field. Maurice is transferring to a 4-year university and will be missed by the Bucks on and off the pitch. 

 

Sophomore, Trev Lewis, returned to the Bucks after emerging late in his freshmen season. He was vital in the Bucks run back to the Region II Championship Match. Scoring 6 goals on the season, he had a hat-trick on May 7th against NEO that lead to a Men's Soccer National Player of the Week Award by the NJCAA. Of the 6 goals, 2 were game winners. He also recorded 3 assists on the season. Trev will be missed by the Bucks at UA Rich Mountain.
