Bucks Drop Match to Rose State

(April 28, 2021) Mena, Arkansas - Coming off overtime loss to NOC-Tonkawa on Sunday, the Bucks looked to rebound against Rose State at home. 

Rose State scored a goal in the 11th minute and took a 1-0 lead into half time. The Bucks knotted the game at 1-1 in the 49th minute with a header by Valente Garay (Stillwell, OK). The goal came after a Rose State foul. Dawson Saywer (Brechin, Scotland) put the set piece past the goal and found the head of Barkan Kilic (Brauschweig, Lower Saxony). Barkan then found Valente for the goal. 

Later in the half, the Bucks had multiple defensive breakdowns that lead to 2 Rose State goals in the 53rd and 68th minutes. Down 3-1, the Bucks would not go away without a fight. Dawson Sawyer drew the keeper off his line and put the ball in front of goal. Barkan Kilic used the pass and found the back of the net to make it 3-2 with about 14 minutes left in the match. The Bucks had opportunities, but Rose State was able to seal the game. Bucks fall 3-2.

The loss puts the Bucks record at 2-7 overall and 2-5 in region play. 

The Bucks play again on Friday at 1 pm at Bearcat Stadium against Murray State College.
