Bucks Fall in Final Minutes Against Crowder

(April 21, 2021) Mena, Arkansas – Coming off a shutout last Friday against Eastern Oklahoma State, the Bucks had the weekend off and returned to the pitch on Wednesday afternoon for a non-conference matchup against Crowder College.

In the first half, neither team-maintained possession for long. The ball went back and forth in most of the half. Crowder got 4 shots on goal that all resulted in saves for Jamie Watt (Arbroath, Scotland). The Bucks only fired off 2 shot in the half, but none were on frame. The match went into the half tied at 0-0.

In the 2nd half, it started much like the first. It went back and forth for the first 15 minutes. The Bucks started to possess the ball about the 70th minute on and started getting corner kick and shot opportunities. After a Bucks foul in the midfield, the Roughriders made a run and found the back of the net at the 77:05 mark to make it 1-0.

For the next 12 minutes, the Bucks would get opportunities but couldn't connect. After a Crowder run, Barkan Kilic (Braunschweig, Germany) played a long ball down field that the Crowder keeper tried to slow play with the lead. Never getting possession, Maurice Theart (Parklands, South Africa) put the ball into the back of the net at the 85:30 mark to tie the game at 1-1. The lead would be short lived as the Bucks tried to possess but turn the ball over. Crowder regained the lead with a little over 3 minutes left in the match. The Bucks would come up empty and fall 2-1 in the match.

The Bucks play again on Friday at home against NEO.
