Bucks Shutout NEO; Win Region 2 Opener

(April 7, 2021) Miami, Oklahoma – After losing their home opener on Saturday, the Bucks looked to rebound on Wednesday afternoon in their Region 2 Opener at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

In the first half, the Bucks were able to strike first. Dawson Sawyer (Brechin, Scotland) found the back of the net for his first goal of his college career in the 16th minute of the game outside of the box. He was assisted by Trev Lewis (Kitchener, Ontario). The Bucks led 1-0 at the half. Sawyer's shot was only 1 of 3 for the Bucks in the half. In the goal, Jamie Watt (Arbroath, Scotland) recorded 3 saves in the half. The Bucks also got 3 corner kick opportunities.

With the score still 1-0 late in the second half, Maurice Theart (Parklands, South Africa) assisted Paolo Mignacco's (Genoa, Italy) goal with 11 minutes remaining in the match. The duo would then combine again for another goal. Mignacco assisted Maurice Theart with 2 minutes left in the match. Not getting any saves in the 2nd half, Jamie Watt recorded his first clean sheet of his college career. Bucks win 3-0.

The win moves the Bucks record to 1-1-0 and 1-0 in region play.

The Bucks play again on Friday at NOC-Tonkawa.
