Mental Mistakes and Turnovers Lead to Bucks Loss

Mental Mistakes and Turnovers Lead to Bucks Loss

Wilburton, Oklahoma – The Rich Mountain Bucks (4-3-3 overall, 1-2-3) traveled to Eastern Oklahoma State (4-8-1 overall; 2-6-1) to take on the Mountaineers. The previous match was a 2-2 draw, but the Bucks had too many mental errors and turnovers to overcome. Eastern would win the match, 2-1.

To start the first half, both teams would trade fouls before EOSC got the first shot that was blocked by Edward Garcia (De Queen, AR). The block led to an Eastern corner kick.

The Bucks will be back in action on Thursday, October 24th, at Rose State in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Both teams would trade shots before the Bucks would counter. Josh Gounden's (Durban, South Africa) shot would sail high, and Daniel Perez (Wickes, AR) would have his shot saved by the EOSC keeper. The save led to a corner kick for the Bucks. Euwin Stevens (Cape Town, South Africa) would find the back of the net off of the corner kick by Sebastian Stefan (Kitchener, Ontario). The Bucks would take the lead in the 12th minute of the match, 1-0. Both teams trade possession, shots, corner kicks, etc. until the 42nd minute. A Bucks' mistake led to an EOSC goal. Eastern's #10 Jos Maria Ruarte would dribble through the Bucks' defense and find the back of the net to knot the match at 1-1 going into intermission.

The Bucks took the second half kickoff and tried to regain the lead. The Bucks would get three corner kicks, but were unsuccessful. Perez, Stevens, and Caleb Summerfield (Plymouth, England) would all get looks at the goal. EOSC countered with a corner kick of their own, but the Bucks countered with a shot by Maurice Theart (Parklands, South Africa) that would be saved by the Mountaineer defense. This led to the winning goal for Eastern by #7 Florian Ouaddour. EOSC would then control the match for nearly 20 minutes until Bryan Crespo (Brossard, Canada) broke the spell for the Bucks with a shot. The shot didn't provide a spark for the Bucks. EOSC would control the remainder of the match. A few desperation shots by the Bucks came up empty. Eastern would take the match 2-1.

The Mountaineers (20 shots, 8 on goal) would out shoot the Bucks (14 shots, 10 on goal). The Bucks keepers, Edward Garica and Julio Porto (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), combined for only 1 save with a few blocks. Eastern's combination of keepers' record 6 saves. Eastern record 9 corner kicks to the Bucks 6 on the evening.

The Bucks will be back in action on Tuesday, October 22nd, at 2 pm in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to make-up a match verses the Murray State Aggies.
