
(March 29, 2025) Enid, Oklahoma - After getting a 3-1 region series win over Redlands last week, the Bucks took on the #15 ranked NOC-Enid Jets this week in a 4-game series. The Bucks hosted the Jets on Thursday before travelling on Saturday to Enid.
The Bucks would drop both games at home on Thursday, before splitting against NOC-Enid on Saturday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. The Bucks won 16-1 in the first game of the doubleheader. The lone win over the weekend brings the Bucks overall record to 18-17 and 4-4 in region play.
On the mound, the highlight of the weekend was Logan Steele (Magnolia, TX) he would pitch a complete game (6.0 innings) in the Bucks win. Steele (5-1) only threw 67 pitches in the outing, giving up an unearned run and a walk on the day.
The Bucks scored 29 runs in the four game series on 36 hits with 13 extra base hits. The men hit 5 long balls on the weekend, including 3 from Ian Smith (Bismarck, AR). Smith also had 7 RBIs in the series. Cody Hayes (Mildred, TX) led the way with 7 hits and scored 5 runs. The other home runs were by Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) and Layne Sweat (Darby, KS), who each drove in 4 runs in the four games, also each recorded a triple. The duo combined for 5 runs scored.
The men will now be in their bye week of region contest this week, but the Bucks are scheduled to play single games on Thursday (Henderson State JV) and Sunday (Hendrix JV).
