Hayes Drives in 4; Bucks Split with Mountain Home

(March 15, 2025) Benton, Arkansas - Coming off a winning three in a row at home this week, the Bucks hit the road to take on ASU Mountain Home on Saturday. The doubleheader was supposed to be played at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, but it was moved to Benton High School on Saturday morning due to weather. A big 'Thank You' to Benton High School for allowing the doubleheader to happen at their all turf field.

The Bucks fell in the first game of the day 5-1, but rebounded in the second game with an 8-2 win. The Bucks and Trailblazers split in their 6 games last season.

Offensively, Cody Hayes (Mildred, TX) led the way with 4 RBIs, all in the second game. He would go 4 for 7 on the day with a triple. Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) came back after going 0 for 4 in the first game with a double and 2 RBIs in the second game. Yancey Steady (Baton Rouge, LA) had a pair of extra base hits on the day: a triple in the first game and a double in the second. The Bucks had 9 total hits on the day. 

On the mound, Corbin Miller (Sprio, OK) got the start and lasted 3.0 innings in the loss to even his second recorded at 2-2. Logan Steele (Magnolia, TX) started the second and pitched 4.1 innings, giving up 1 run 4 hits. Camden Farmer (Paragould, AR) was the second out of the pen in the second game and pitched the final 4.2 innings. Farmer (2-1) struck out 4 hitters in the win while facing 15 hitters.

The Bucks are winners of their last 7 out of 10 games and have an overall record of 14-12. 

The men will now start their region week routine with a mid-week game on Tuesday at Bossier Parrish before beginning a 4-game region series on Thursday against Redlands Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 pm on Thursday, March 20th.
