(February 17, 2025) Carthage, Texas - Coming off a split on the road Saturday with National Park, the Bucks moved up their mid-week doubleheader to Monday to account for the incoming weather that will limit games, travel, practice, etc. The Bucks (6-7) travelled to Panola College (7-4) this afternoon for a doubleheader with the Ponies. This is the first meeting between the schools.
After a long day at the ballpark, the Bucks dropped both games of the doubleheader to the Ponies: 5-4 in extra innings and 7-6.
Offensively, the Bucks scored 10 runs on the day on 16 hits. This includes 6 extra base hits lead by Ian Smith (Bismarck, AR) with a double and a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning of the second game. Ethan Miller (Hallsville, TX) and Jack Bilski (La Porte, TX) each recorded 3 hits and a pair of doubles on the day. Bilski led the team in RBIs with 4, followed by Smith with 3.
On the mound, the Bucks sent 9 pitchers to the hill. The men surrendered 12 runs on 18 hits. The Bucks struck out 8 and walked 10 hitters on the day.
As of late, the defense has played fairly clean and only committed 1 error in the doubleheader.
The Bucks will now wait out mother nature to learn when they will take on Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College this weekend. Game times and location are currently TBD.
