SFCC struggles in Branson

March 4 Murray State College at Branson, Missouri

The State Fair Community College (SFCC) Lady Roadrunners fell to Murray State College 12-3 in five innings at Ballparks of America in Branson on Saturday, March 4.

The SFCC offense was held to just three hits in the game. Sophomore second baseman Kelsey Webb hit a home run and drove in a pair of runs. Freshman outfielder Jaelyn Winfrey recorded a triple. Sophomore pitcher/first baseman Alexis Hughes also had a hit for SFCC. Freshman shortstop Samantha Picha drove in the other run for SFCC. Winfrey and freshman catcher Paige Klinge each scored a run for the Lady Roadrunners.

Sophomore pitcher Kennidi Harris got the start for SFCC and gave up eight runs (four earned) on nine hits and struck out three batters in four innings. Freshman pitcher Grace VanDenburgh allowed four runs on four hits, and struck out one in the final two-thirds of an inning,

March 4 Fort Scott Community College at Branson, Missouri

SFCC lost to Fort Scott Community College 9-0 in five innings at Ballparks of America in Branson on Saturday, March 4.

The SFCC offense was held to only three hits, including two hits from sophomore third baseman Kailei Allen. Sophomore outfielder Tomi Lightle had a hit and one stolen base.

Freshman pitcher Charlee Reese got the start for SFCC and allowed seven runs on seven hits and struck out two in 2 1/3 innings. Sophomore pitcher Tabitha Imhoff allowed two runs on six hits and struck out one in relief in the final 2 2/3 innings.

March 5 University of Arkansas Rich Mountain at Branson, Missouri

SFCC fell 9-6 to the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain at Ballparks of America in Branson on Sunday, March 5.

Webb hit a home run, a double and drove in three to lead SFCC offensively. Freshman first baseman Paige Clines hit a home run, a double, scored twice and drove in two RBI. Lightle had two hits, one run, and drove in a run. Winfrey tripled and scored one run.

Sophomore pitcher Kaycee Thompson got the start for SFCC and gave up one hit, struck out one and walked one in 1 2/3 innings. Freshman pitcher Ava Hutchings gave up nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits and struck out one in five innings of relief.

March 5 Neosho County Community College at Branson, Missouri

SFCC (1-5) lost 6-2 to Neosho County Community College at Ballparks of America in Branson on Sunday, March 5.
