Traywick Named Head Baseball Coach

(June 12, 2024) Mena, Arkansas – Bucks Athletic Director Jerod McCormick is proud to announce the hiring of Peyton Traywick as the next Head Baseball Coach at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain (UARM). Traywick comes to UARM from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro where he served as the pitching coach this past season.

Traywick's coaching experience began as a Student Assistant Coach at the University of Central Arkansas, before moving on to the Tampa Bay Rays organization as a Minor League Affiliate Player Development Assistant. His duties within the organization included handling Pro Scouting Assignments during Spring Training and assisting in the Amateur Draft.

After his time with the Rays, Coach Traywick began his college coaching career at Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, Virginia as their Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. In his second year, he was named the team's Associate Head Coach.  Traywick, in a very short period of time, helped the Hurricanes break multiple team pitching records.

In 2023, Traywick became the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at the College of Central Florida. During his time, the pitching staff ranked 3rd in the National Junior College Athletic Association in strikeouts while winning the 2023 Division I NJCAA National Championship.

Athletic Director Jerod McCormick was thrilled about the interview process and the hire. "We had a tremendous pool of candidates for the vacancy and Coach Traywick came to the forefront after many conversations. He's a high character person that has a passion for baseball in the state of Arkansas. He's ready to hit the ground running, and we are excited to have him joining us at UARM."

UARM Chancellor Phillip Wilson stated "Peyton's passion for UARM Baseball stood out.  I had no less than five unsolicited references contact me to praise Peyton's ability to build men of character and to coach the game. These references all spoke to the quality that exists in him. I could not be more excited to have Peyton at Rich Mountain."

Traywick is a native of Jacksonville, Arkansas.
