(July 17, 2023) Charlotte, North Carolina– Completing the fifth year of athletics at UA Rich Mountain, the athletic program continues to be competitive on and off the playing surface. The Bucks made the postseason tournament with every team competitively and graduated a total of 46 athletes in May. A number of these athletes will continue their education at the next level and compete in their respective sport.
This season, FOUR teams got the job done in the classroom with a 3.0+ Team GPA:

With these teams' overall success, 24 Bucks were named to the All-Academic Teams. To achieve this honor, a student athlete must complete 24 hours of class work in the academic year and compete in their respective sport season, along with meeting the GPA requirement of a 3.6 GPA or higher. Athletic Director Jerod McCormick stated, "We visit with our athletes at the beginning of each year about being the standard in the classroom and being a leader on and off the field. Our teams are not only successful athletically, but their success off the field is what we are most proud of. These accomplishments are a testament to their hard work, the importance of coursework made by our coaching staffs, and the work of our Academic Advisor, Charlotte Wiles, who goes above and beyond to help our student-athletes every day."
