Men's and Women's Cross Country Nationally Ranked for First Time in School History

NEW ORLEANS - For the first time in school history, both men's and women's cross country are nationally ranked in the NJCAA DII Coaches' Poll. NJCAA Division II Cross Country is in its first season. In the past, NJCAA only had Division I and Division III offerings in cross country. For the first two seasons, the Bucks competed at the DI level. All of NJCAA Region 2 (Arkansas and Oklahoma) dropped to DII in cross country for the 2020 season.

In the 2020 Week 3 Coaches' Poll, women's cross country is ranked inside the top 10 at #8. Being unranked in the first two week's, the Bucks were the only school that was unranked in the previous poll and climbed to #8 after their first race of the season at the East Texas Shootout in Commerce, TX. The men of Bucks Cross Country went from being unranked to #11 in the Week 3 Coaches' Poll. Two other schools besides UARM were unranked before week 3: Tallahassee CC (#18) and Region 2 foe, Redlands CC (#21). The Bucks will compete against Redlands CC twice in the month of October before heading to Fort Dodge, IA for the NJCAA DII National Championship in November. The Bucks will have a home meet this Friday at 10 am at the Lion's Club Disc Golf Course against some NCAA schools and other NJCAA schools, including regional foes Redlands CC and National Park. UA Rich Mountain will also host the NJCAA Region 2 Championship at the Lion's Club on October 31st. With majority of their season ahead, the Bucks look to maintain their ranking and continue to climb in the polls while competing against NJCAA DII and Region 2 competition.
