7 Athletes Named as 2019-2020 NJCAA All-Academic Team Honorees

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA National Office of Communication has released the 2019-2020 All-Academic Team members in all sports for outstanding academic achievement. Bucks Athletics had 7 athletes named as honorees: 2 Men's Cross Country and 5 Men's Soccer athletes.

To be nominated and awarded as a NJCAA All-Academic Team Honoree, a student-athlete must have completed two full-time semesters (24 credit hours or more) and participated in a least one season at the varsity level in his or her sport. Along with the previous requirements, a student must finish the academic year with at least a 3.6 grade-point average or higher on a 4.00 scale. The NJCAA breaks down the honorees into the following categories:

  • NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
  • NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80 to 3.99 GPA
  • NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60 to 3.79 GPA

The following Bucks athletes were named as NJCAA All-Academic Honorees:

    • Maurice Theart (Soccer) – Parklands, South Africa
    • Rodrigo De Castro (Soccer) – Goiania, Brazil
    • Marcos Pires (Soccer) – Trass Lagoas, Brazil
