(October 22, 2025) Mena, Arkansas - After a loss on October 12th at #3 Seminole State College, the Bucks played their last regular season match of the season on Wednesday afternoon at Tapley Park. The ladies took on Murray State College. The Bucks beat the Aggies 3-0 earlier this season in Tishomingo.
The game got off to a flyer as UARM scored within 32 seconds of the starting kick off. Maya Lane (Southend-on-Sea, England) broke down the right and her cross found Solange Depirou (St. Albans, England) free in front of the goal for a simple finish after controlling the ball.
The early 1-0 led was short lived Murray would immediately bounce back, and 3 minutes later, the left winger was tripped up in the penalty area. The resulting penalty kick was smashed home to make it 1-1.
The rest of the game was a low key affair with neither team threatening each other's goal, and a stalemate was the result played in the middle of the field for the majority of the rest of the game.
Coach Kevin Sherry knows his team will need to play better to advance in the region tournament next week. "This game had a pre-season slow scrimmage type game to it rather than an intense end of season match up. The pace of the game was very slow and our decision making in the final third of the pitch reflected that lack of mental sharpness. I hope it is just a blip, and we can bring more intensity to the tournament next week."
The ladies finish the regular season with the best record in school history at 11-1-2. The Bucks will be the #2 seed from the South Division and will play Redlands Community College on Thursday, October 30th, at 11:30 am. The tournament will be played at the Advance Soccer Complex in Enid, OK.
